I found this slide most relevant to components of my UT environment. This concept, "shadow as repetition", evoked a feeling that my design in a sense is a series of repeated forms, shapes and members, arranged in different patterns and styles in order to achieve desired spaces. The selected photos from the slide show related to my design the most. This revelation that shadows are bound by solid forms, yet act quite independently in their own right is interesting. Whilst the solids that cast the shadows appear to be repetitive, i believe the shadows they cast are quite distinct, unique to themselves, and hold an ability to transform the overall structure. without the presence of shadows and manipulative lights, i don't believe this unique quality would be achievable. Because of this, a series of repeated forms with adequate lighting and shadows can create something quite distinct. The nature of this modelling software, building predominantly in quadrilaterals, lends itself to the notion of "shadow as repetition" quite well, and in a distinct manner, much like the shadows thesis as a whole.
